What is The People’s Proclamation?
The People’s Proclamation is our public commitment to anti-corruption values, accountability, and people-powered democracy.
What does it mean to sign The People’s Proclamation?
Signing The People’s Proclamation means you are adding your name to the declaration and publicly supporting its principles in a private-signature format.
Is the signature public or private?
The signature is private.
Will there be a signer count?
Yes. We will display a signer count.
Do signers receive anything?
Yes. Signers will receive a certificate by email.
Is this a pledge, endorsement, agreement, or petition?
It is The People’s Proclamation and a pledge of membership.
Membership FAQ
Who can become an Unrig Member?
Unrig Membership is for individuals. Organizations should join the Anti-Corruption Coalition instead.
Is membership free?
Yes. Anyone can become a member for free.
Is there a donation option?
Yes. We encourage members to donate at least $1 per year, and preferably to give small monthly if they are able. Donations help build people power. In the bureaucratic world, people power is calculated by recurring donations, which is why we encourage at least $1 a year on an annual basis to ensure your membership is effective. If you could opt in for the processing fees for $1 donations, please do.

What do members receive?
Members receive an electronic certificate recognizing them as part of the movement.
Are there member perks for giving?
Yes. If someone gives $25, they receive a copy of the declaration with their name on it. If someone signs up to give $15/month, they also receive a t-shirt.
What communication options can members choose?
Members can choose whether they want emails, text messages, phone calls, updates, calls to action, and voting reminders. Zip code is necessary for voting reminders.
How do volunteers sign up?
After becoming a member and signing the declaration, people can choose whether they want to volunteer.
What volunteer options are available?
Members can choose to text bank, phone bank, canvass, host an event, join a local chapter, or start a local chapter.
Who receives phone bank and canvass assignments?
Member volunteers and chapters.
Are volunteer options separate?
Yes. Each communication and volunteer option should have its own checkbox for you to control how we communicate with you and how you want to get involved.

What is a chapter?
A chapter is a local Unrig group that organizes in a community.
What can an approved chapter do?
Approved chapters can host regular meetings, events, and canvassing.
What is expected of a chapter?
Chapters are expected to hold monthly meetings and canvass regularly.
Can anyone start a chapter?
Yes, people can apply to start a chapter.
What happens after someone applies to start a chapter?
The application is reviewed and approved before onboarding begins.
Does a chapter need a leader?
Yes. A chapter needs a leader, but there is no minimum number of members required to start.
Will Unrig provide support to chapters?
Yes. Unrig will provide templates, branding, and training.

Established organizations should join the Anti-Corruption Coalition.
How is Anti-Corruption Coalition membership different from individual membership?
Coalition membership is for organizations, while Unrig Membership is for individuals.

Coalition members formally align with the mission and participate as organizational partners in the movement.
